Career history at Hilti
I started with Hilti as a production engineer, which is a varied and interesting job, and the perfect stepping board for future moves along the supply chain. It’s mostly about implementing new products in the plant, which means working really closely with the development team.
After four years’ great experience in production, I was given my first leadership position as head of engineering. There I learned the complexity and different styles of leading a big team, while developing the plant technology-wise too. It was an inspiring and motivating combination of challenges.
My next step meant doing a role outside the plant – in this case, two years in strategic supply management – to get a different perspective of the business and prepare me for a higher level of leadership.
In 2008, I took on my biggest challenge yet: leading the production unit assembly in one of our plants, which involved relocating the whole unit to another plant! I then had to build a new, high-performing team, which all played an enormous part in my personal development.
Since 2017, I’ve been in a more strategic and global function, defining the technological future of our manufacturing tools. Who knows what my next challenge will bring?
Career history at Hilti
My relationship with Hilti began almost 12 years ago. I worked weekends and holidays in the family business, building dry walls in Gijon in the beautiful north of Spain. From the day I got my hands on my first Hilti SD 4000, I knew I was working with a very special tool!
After my degree in industrial management at the University of Joanneum, I started an internship in Hilti’s transport management team. Seven years, four roles and three countries later, I now head up global materials management in our diamond business unit in Schaan.
It’s a truly exciting and challenging role, which gives me the opportunity to develop both myself and my team, professionally and personally.
Having spent six years as a Hilti customer, and now more than that as a Hilti team member, I can hand-on-heart say that behind these amazing products and services is a really fantastic company. People-caring, performance-driven, dynamic, fantastic!
